International relief and development NGO World Share
(Chairperson Choi Soon-ja) announced that it is continuing to carry out social
contribution activities in partnership with Haesung DS (KRX:195870), a global
semiconductor company, to support children in the Pampanga region of the
Philippines.
Since establishing its Philippine branch, Haesung DS has been
committed to coexisting with the local community through various CSR
initiatives. In collaboration with World Share, the company is currently
running a scholarship support program for students at Sitio Target Integrated
School.
In March, Haesung DS provided 25 students from the school with
food supplies including rice, powdered milk, canned goods, ramen, cereal, and
vitamins. This support is set to continue on a monthly basis.
A representative from World Share’s Philippine office stated,
“Through our partnership with Haesung DS, our final goal is to improve the basic
living conditions of children in the region and help them continue their
education. We will continue to develop sustainable social contribution
activities through partnerships with corporate entities.”
A spokesperson for Haesung DS added, “Our collaboration with
World Share goes beyond financial support — it is an opportunity to build
sustainable relationships with local communities and pursue mutual growth. We
will continue to expand our CSR activities to share the positive impact to even
more regions.”
Founded in 2006, World Share is an international NGO that provides support in education, hygiene, healthcare, and emergency relief to marginalized communities around the world. The organization works with various domestic and international companies to promote sustainable development. Its partnership with Haesung DS is gaining attention as a meaningful case of collaboration between a corporation and an NGO to improve child welfare.
