Semiconductor component manufacturer Haesung DS (195870) has been recognized as a Meritorious Taxpayer and received a Governor’s Commendation for its exemplary tax compliance.

On March 4, the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government held ‘The 59th Taxpayers’ Day Commemoration Ceremony’ at the Changwon Convention Center. During the event, 25 outstanding taxpayers were designated as Meritorious Taxpayers out of 300 exemplary taxpayers who have contributed significantly to the province’s finances.

To qualify as an Exemplary Taxpayer, an individual or company must have paid at least three local taxes over the past three years and be recommended by the mayor or county governor before undergoing review by the Local Tax Deliberation Committee.

Outstanding taxpayers receive benefits such as certification issuance, medical expense discounts, preferential interest rates and fee reductions at Gyeongnam Province’s financial institutions, and lower guarantee fees at the Gyeongnam Credit Guarantee Foundation. Additionally, the 25 Meritorious Taxpayers enjoy further privileges, including exemptions from corporate tax audits.

Haesung DS was previously designated as an Exemplary Taxpayer in 2023 for its commitment to tax compliance, serving as a role model for local businesses. Just two years later, the company has now been recognized as a Meritorious Taxpayer, earning the prestigious Governor’s Commendation.
